Which Linux build should I install? Some background info, I’m fairly tech savy, I have a general knowledge of both Windows and Mac OS, since about 1995. This will be my first Linux OS, and I will be running on my MacBook Pro as a virtual machine.

I’m kinda like working on a project about virtual machines and stuff… what i need to know if apache web server is already inside fedora 10… if not then where should i download it and how do i configure it?
I have heard about the “Fedora Core 7 (x86) Desktop” being downloaded and run using the “VMware player”.
What is this done for? Does it allow us to run Linux on Windows XP?
And how is the term “virtual machine” connected here?
please try to explain all about this process… i dont know anythin much.
thanks

I’m currently running Ubuntu 7.10. I have VMWare Server installed with Server2003 and XP SP2 as my virtual machines. Is it possible to copy those virtual machine images in the VMWare folders and transfer them to another system? Windows or Linux based.
i’m trying to install fedora 8 on vmware player. however, i keep getting an error after i chose the languages.
it says that no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems. please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.
what should i do?
