i am trying to install an OS to VMware. i copied the OS cd into a folder. i created an ISO image (.iso) of it and mounted to a virtual CD drive name G.

I use VMware and run 2 to 4 Operating Systems Simultaneously on a single Hard Drive. Will this Damage my hard drive or lessen the life span due to heavy access? Will it do damage to my other hardware like motherboard etc. or will this be safe?

I have put qemu knoppix (virtual machine) to run off of my usb drive, and have successfully gotten it to work under vista. However, i cannot read the hard drive on my laptop: the hard drive “hda1″ contains “lost+found” and some knoppix file (iso?). How would i get to my windows files?
