You would probably wave to render them in a different format.
Just edit on the PC or put windows on the Mac.

As I know ... VMware is better than Virtual PC ... I tried both, and VMware felt better ... but in both ways ... VMware and Virtual PC are an emulation programs .. and they will perform Slow for the OS running in them, unless you have very good specification for your computer .. which doesn't seem like it since you have 512 MB RAM

your problem is your G4! It won't run vmware or parallels or bootcamp.
with a G4 , you can just run virtual pc. give it lots of memory (more than you have, so get more!) and quit other programs.
It's a PIG, and it will never run well. I had a G4, I used virtual PC.... I tossed it!

It's very easy to input your video from camera to your macbook,iMovie will automatically detect when you have a FireWire camcorder connected.Perhaps you may follow this step by step:
1.Connect camcorder to your Mac computer with cable (USB/Wifi)
2.Select mode of camcorder such as PC/Computer mode
3.iMovie will automatic open Import window
4.If DVD Player automatic open. just quit DVD Player first
5.Now, you can review your video or select "Import All"(make sure your switch is set to "Automatic")
6.If you select "Manual", you can import some clip to iMovie
7.If you import from Tape based device (DV/HDV), iMovie will automatic revise tape and import all
8.iMovie automatic create thumbnail video after complete import
Give a look at this article, you will find more information:http://www.iskysoft.com/article/import-c…
Hope you resolve your problem asap!

You more than likely have a networking issue between the Virtual Machine software and Windows. Double check that you have all of the networking settings correct. (Correct IPs and gateways) Some vm programs have an option to disable/enable the network between the two, so you may want to check if that is the problem.
Hope this helps,

Which camcorder manufacturer and model - or media storage type?
Which Mac?
miniDV tape and digital 8 tape require a firewire connection from the camcorder's DV port to the Mac's firewire port. The new MacBook and MacBook Air have no firewire port and no way to add one. ALL other Macs made in the last 10+ years have a firewire port. You need to buy a firewire cable because they are not included in the box with the Mac or the camcorder.
Consumer flash memory and hard disc drive based standard definition camcorders use a USB connection - and the camcorder memory will mount to the desktop like any other external mass storage device. Copy the files to the Mac, Download and install StreamCliphttp://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/vi…
to convert the MOD files to MOV files so iMovie can deal with them.
Consumer flash memory, hard disc drive and DVD based high definition AVCHD camcorders also use a USB connection - and the camcorder memory will mount to the desktop like any other external mass storage device. The MTS files can be dealt with using iMovie '08 or newer. Just drag them to a new iMovie Log/Capture pane. The Mac needs to be running an Intel cpu. The DVD needs to be in a drawer loading DVD drive - never put a small or odd-shaped disc in a slot loader.
Consumer DVD based standard definition camcorders write to VOB format files that need to be ripped using a drawer loading DVD drive and you need to install a DVD ripper - like HandBrakehttp://handbrake.fr/
The DVD needs to be in a drawer loading DVD drive - never put a small or odd-shaped disc in a slot loader.
Analog camcorders (VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, etc) require an analog/digital bridge like the Canopus ADVC55 or ADVC110 - but this presumes your Mac has a working firewire port.

You'll lose performance anytime you run something through a VM. They're not really meant for playing high-performance games through.
That said, if your machine's fast enough and you don't need everything cutting-edge fast, you can do ok. About the only game I ever play (Guild Wars), I run through a Windows compatability layer called Wine, and it runs well enough for me.
