I recently purchased a new computer that came preloaded with Windows Vista. I have a 298GB hardrive and only have 12 GB remaining (I have only installed one game so far)
Anyway there are these files called “Filerserver-VMWARE.vmdk” and “Windows-2003-SERVER-Main.vhd” that take up 130GB each.
What exactly are these?

*vhd is a virtual images of some 2 OS used by VmwareWorkstation Program. This program let you install and use several OS on 1 HDD. So if you do not use those virtual systemy, you can get rid of them
Good luck
They are clone backups which indeed is needed when there’s a system failure. But if it consumes a lot space then use some DVD or blue ray discs or even pendrives to move it from there. Now as an advice you dont need those files. You know why there are a lot of software for backing up harddrives so that the files you have is Unwanted. Dont be confused to delete them . You know how to Format and partition if a failure occurs. Ok For more info mail me. I’ll be on the edge of my seat.
those sound like hard drive images (backups of entire hard drives). did you buy this computer at a retail chain (walmart, best buy etc) or did you buy from a repair place? It is perfectly safe to delete those files you do not need them
