I Want To Install Windows Onto My New Mac?

Is it better to partition the hard drive and install Windows onto it or should I download a Windows emulator like VMware Fusion or Parallels Desktop? I have all these games I want to play but they’re all for Windows.

If you want to use Windows for gaming, the best thing to do is partition the hard drive using Boot Camp and install Windows that way. Emulation is fine for productivity apps and what not but there would be way too much lag for gaming. When you use a virtual machine, you are essentially running two operating systems at the same time which uses way more resources than one. The cool thing is that if you do use Boot Camp you can also use Parallels (and I’m sure VMware, although I haven’t used that) to emulate the Windows partition if there is some data you need or another app without having to reboot into Windows for 5 minutes. But you’ll always want to boot into Boot Camp to play your games. And if you are using a portable, I recommend getting a mouse; the trackpad’s performance in Windows leaves something to be desired, specifically the two finger scrolling.
