I Want To Install A Virus On My Computer… How?

I want to install a virus on my computer… how? I’m doing some testing in VMWare Player and part of it is to install a Windows virus on XP.
What’s the fastest way to do this?

As long as you are inside of VMware player, which most people who answered you have no idea about, you are safe. There is currenly no know viruses which will escape outside of the Virtual machine. There are known test viruses, for example:http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_fil…
These test file will not do any damage to your system, they are simple strings which should be detected by any valid anti virus program.
If you want to test the ability to remove real viruses I recommend searching on http://www.seriall.com/ and running any exectuable on that site. They are known bad infectious programs. If done correctly you should see a new program installled, last time I check it was “free soduku” or similar.

Whatever you do, DO NOT download anything others are recommending!!! I don’t want to offend everyone, but real viruses are a REAL pain in the neck. Malware can do much harm before you, your computer or your AV program can do anything about it. If you want to test your AV program, go to
    http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm
and download their 4 test virus files. They aren’t real viruses (they won’t do anything, just display a command prompt with 1 line of characters), but they’re recognized by the AV community as malware, so it should be detected as a virus.

I agree with Nathan.. I’m part of the Rohitab community and am quite experienced.
Please be warned the people on there are extremely intelligent and wont make crap viruses!
Look around on the site, you’ll find ways of making them and examples of their effects.
Else you can go to http://mytermex.com/ (turn off your AV) and let it burn!
Although I must advise you that I don’t really think it’s necessary that you need to do this to use VMWare… VMWare simulates your computer on programs which is why it’s good on viruses, I doubt you need to run one on your actual machine.
