You can boot camp any other OS on Macbook ( http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ ). If you have an Intel based Mac you will want to install the AMD64 Linux (or 64bit version) as you will be able to take full control of all your hardware’s resources. If you have an older Macbook (G4 or G5) then you will need the PPC version of Linux.
There are several different versions of Linux called distros (short for distribution). To find the one that would be best for you I suggest checking out the following quiz http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/index.… . It will also provide a link to the distro that is best for you.
i would presume that linux can run fine on a macbook since it is basically just an intel pc but i’m not exactly right. there are issues of course. see the links below
