Is there a way to use an emulator like VMware to run Windows Vista off of Windows XP?

    Yes, you can use virtual pc. However, if you run Vista — just like a regular environment, you will need to have enough resources [memory] on the machine… in my experience, if you have less than 3 MB memory on the machine, you will experience significantly reduced performance on the virtual machine. The Microsoft Virtual PC is free currently.
