I’m a former Windows and Linux user (Linux with a VM Windows) and I just moved to Mac. I really do love the Mac.
I’m just curious though, is there any compelling reason for me to run a VM of Linux or BSD? Is there anything I can do with it that would make it worth it? I have vmware fusion.
Thanks!

I suppose you COULD run Linux in a VM, but you may not see the need. Macs run with with a Darwin kernel and the BASH shell. You should feel right at home with the terminal in your Mac. (yes, I know, Darwin is UNIX, not Linux, but they’re close enough together for you to be happy in Terminal)
One of the more thoughtful questions of recent times.
If you can’t think of a reason to run an OS (or anything for that matter), that is more than enough reason not to, especially for something as serious as running a computer.
Any more questions?
Not really… I mean, if you get the compiling tools and everything, MacOS X can do everything that Linux does and more. I guess the only reason would really be the Linux is epically awesome and non-proprietry and you don’t like software that you have to pay for, but if that were the case, you would have just built your own pc and installed linux anyway. I guess RPMs or Deb files are a plus, but Apple typically has its own install files anyway, and you can always compile anyway.
Depends for your need of it. I know a few server masters who are very happy with mac servers running linux applications. I personally love the unix/linux environment more then macos and windows but it lacks some of the GUI short cuts as disadvantage.
