Why is it going to be sooooo much better than Vista? Wasn’t Vista supposed to be sooooo much better than XP? From running W7 in a virtual machine, all I can see are some GUI features.

Vista was supposed to be better than XP, in the “theory” department. But they failed miserably in the practicality department.
Windows 7 is supposed to be better than Vista because most people have played with the beta version of Windows 7 – myself included. I am NOT a Windows fanboy. I swear by Ubuntu Linux and will always be an open source software fanatic till the end of time. But at work, we made the decision to skip Vista and upgrade our computers to Windows 7 down the road when it comes out and it becomes more stable.
Supposedly it looks just like Vista, works like Vista, but the core of it is revamped a little bit which helps it handle applications with common sense, unlike Vista, and actually utilize the system resources in an intelligent manner, also unlike Vista.
But, like I said… let the MS fanboys talk. Ubuntu 9.04 came out in April and 9.10 will be out in October.
Bring it, 7.
I wouldnt say ‘fanboys’ are saying it, i’d say people that use it are saying it.
if all you see are “Gui features” you arent looking hard enough.
not only does it install faster, it IS faster. they really got their act together and this operating system is something other windows vista, which wasnt really worth switching to. also it’s not as bloated as vista.
btw, i have vista/64 and it’s not bad with the right tweaks.

i have looked at about 50 forums for windows 7 , and the only difference i have found is it loads up 2 seconds faster than vista, and thats it , obviously a new layout too
I do not know why everyone does not like vista because i like it quite a lot. I did try windows 7 in the early stages of its testing and i was very impressed with it
because vista and windows 7 is better than xp
you just need a little computer experience to use them
because of its improved compatibility, speed, UI, and reliability.
Windows 7 is ok , it’s a lot better than Vista and a lot faster too
