Several Java Virtual Machines Running In The Same Process Caused An Error – How Do I Fix This?

I get this error message every time I try to run an application that requires Java (Yahoo Games, Pogo – etc). Uninstalling Java and downloading the software again does not help. My laptop runs off Windows XP. Please help if possible. Thanks!

JRE errors are almost always the path var. You can have more than one installation of Java. You delete one, and then you still have links going to the other JVM. I am not Windows. I do know XP has a Systems variable input dialog (because XP is NT with a newer interface). Note: unless you are writing code, all you need is the JRE and not the JDK (java development kit).
