VM Times

Trying to install something and I can’t pass this test. Tells me I don’t have a “Current Java Virtual Machine” even though I’ve gone to Java and downloaded the newest version, and Java’s page tell’s me I’m all up to date as well. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the OS with no help there, and I’m not sure if I’m missing something or not. On my other PC, I try the same program and it installs fine…EVEN when I uninstall Java from the computer from add/remove programs…it still says I have a “Current Java Virtual Machine”…so am I missing something…is it not asking for the Java VM found on www.java.com? Is there another driver or something, because I have no idea why this isn’t working and it’s kind of getting annoying.
I’m downloading it from the following link, though I’ve also tried FileHippo, but that version and previous version’s bring up the same error.http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_…
I’m wondering if since that download says Firefox/Mozilla, maybe that’s a Java for Firefox only…is there one separate for Windows itself? Am I missing something? It works on two other desktops I’ve tried, and a laptop, with no problem, but it just won’t work on this PC. I’ve tried Windows XP Professional, and Windows Media Center…it’s all I have besides Vista, and 64-bit XP, but I don’t really want to try Vista because it only has 2GB’s of RAM, and don’t really want to use 64-bit because driver’s are kind of harder to find, and I don’t need it.
So, any suggestions how to get this to work?
