I Want To Use / Install My Modem In A Virtual Machine (vmware) So Ican Use Internet Access, But Couldn’t?

I am trying to test some web applications on various OS, I was advised to use VMware (Virtual Machine) to save time but so far I can’t install my modem as it doesn’t detects it (it’s a PCI) I am Using VMware Workstation 6, can anyone help me with this?

    Ok, you should have the physical modem installed on the machine where your vmware is installled. Configure your virtual machine to use ethernet/NIC to get onto the internet. Dial-up on the physical vmware machine and disable the nic in the machine. This should force your vitual machine out the modem.
