I have VMWARE fusion and I want to put windows 2000 on my MAC OS X through the virtual machine. But when i try to install windows, the blue screen loads configurations and then states that if I am to proceed with the installation, I will lose information on the OS X. Does it mean its going to write over it? I want both the OS X and Windows 2000 at the same time. How do i install windows 2000 pro without over writing anything and keeping what I have. I’m only using windows for games.

No, you will not over write anything on your mac. What vmware does is create a sandbox for the guess OS (your case win 2000) to play with but will not be able to touch OSX. During your VM creation wizard, you select the amount of hard drive disk space that your win2000 can run on. What vmware does in the background is create a large .vmx file and tricks the win2000 into thinking that the .vmx file is it’s C: drive. Anything win200 writes will only be inside that file and no where else.
BTW, 3D games perform very poorly under vmware.
