How Can I Create A Virtual Machine On My Pc To Test Programs?

i have a few .bat file i want to test. but dont want to do it on my pc. can i make a “virtual machine” on my pc so the file go no further than say a folder i specify. any help would b great!

    Create a bootable floppy or a bootable CD assuming your .bat files are running under DOS/CMD mode.

    Try using VMWare. It will allow you to run a whole OS without touching your installed system. It is also a great way to test out new things like Linux. There is a product called VMWare Server that is free to download and use.
